To
Sponsor a Seminar, Course or Workshop |
What is
needed to sponsor an Isaiah 40 conference?
|
1) |
a written invitation from a host
community |
|
2) |
a willing Host Committee to plan,
prepare and facilitate the two
evenings and one day (including
hosting the Isaiah 40 team during
the teaching). |
The Host
Committee should be formed and consist of an
overall Chair along with individuals
responsible for various components of the
preparation and hosting; i.e. registrations,
publicity, hospitality (both attendees and
the Isaiah 40 team), equipment, prayer and
possibly musical support.
While this committee is the coordinating
body, each area of responsibility would
‘reach out’ into the community for
additional resources and help. This is one
way that such an opportunity for good
Christian teaching and spiritual growth can
be communicated with the whole of the host
parish/community. It is an expectation that
all who work on the Host Committee will
register and attend the conference.
What is the anticipated ‘scope’ of such a
teaching?
The immediate focus and primary audience is
the host community, their friends and
acquaintances. It is also possible to open
the conference to outside communities.
Whether to open the conference to people
outside the host community would be a
priority for discussion of the Host
Committee. A final decision after due
consideration would be made after
discussions with the governing body of the
parish and the Isaiah 40 Foundation.
What is
the ‘shape’ and content of an Isaiah 40
Foundation conference?
The Isaiah 40 Foundation seminars are
designed to provide a deeper insight into
healing, and to create awareness of God’s
call to all, to become channels of His
healing love. The teaching provides
foundational principles and an understanding
for our relationship with God, with others,
and with ourselves. They also provide the
necessary steps to re-claim and maintain
these essential and vital relationships in
order for a more healthy and effective
Christian life.
The teaching provides the opportunity to
further explore our relationship with -
God - as
Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Ourselves - as body, soul and spirit
One another.
Specific
prayers for healing during a teaching may
take place in two forms. At appropriate and
necessary times, a general prayer may be
made for the whole community present for a
particular teaching session. Following
teaching sessions, another opportunity for
prayer with individuals may be offered by
members of the Isaiah 40 team.
The ‘shape’ of a typical teaching is:
|
Thursday evening: |
Registration: 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Seminar: 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm |
|
Friday evening: |
Seminar: 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm |
|
Saturday: |
Seminar: 9:00 am –12:00 pm
1:00 pm – 4:00 pm |
Refreshment
breaks are provided throughout the
conference.
Who gives the Isaiah 40 Foundation
conferences? (in addition to the LORD)
1) Background to the Principal Speaker
Vina Sweetman, President and C.E.O. of the
Isaiah 40 Foundation, has worked for the
past 40 years counseling and teaching people
from all walks of life. During this time,
she has presented many seminars designed to
provide personal insight into the healing
that God offers at all stages and conditions
of life. Vina also spends much of her time
in personal prayer counseling and is deeply
committed to the ministry of healing and
personal wholeness through God’s grace and
love.
2) There is a team of people (individuals
and couples) who work with Vina Sweetman
during the conferences.
How is
the Isaiah 40 Foundation funded?
Fees are required upon Registration for two
reasons:
|
1) |
To recognize the value of the
teaching provided and the inherent
costs incurred to provide such
teaching. |
|
2) |
It has been clearly demonstrated
that when we pay for something, we
tend to demand ‘value’ which also
involves our ongoing commitment,
thus we are more likely to use that
teaching in our lives. |
The total of
all Registration fees paid (less any costs
the host community is unable to bear for
holding a teaching) are given to the Isaiah
40 Foundation to cover expenses incurred in
the particular teaching and to augment the
Bursary Fund. The latter fund is used to
ensure that everyone who wants help, and is
prepared to work on their situation, can
come for counseling.
It is worth noting that no payment is made
to any of the team members for their time
given. However, team member travel costs may
be covered when necessary.
The present registration fee structure is:
$75.00 (CDN)
per individual person
$100.00 (CDN) per married couple
$40.00 (CDN) per student (21 years or
younger)
The
registration fee will increase by $10.00
after the registration deadline.
